How resizing happens.

Three steps. None of them involve a server.

  1. Step 01 1

    Drop the video.

    Pick an MP4 or MOV. The file stays on your device and is read by this tab only.

  2. Step 02 2

    Choose the size.

    Pick 1080p, 720p, 480p or 280p. The tool preserves aspect ratio and never upscales smaller footage.

  3. Step 03 3

    Download the MP4.

    The browser scales and re-encodes the clip locally, then gives you a fresh MP4.

Is resize different from compress?
Yes. Compress changes bitrate. Resize changes pixel dimensions, like 1080p to 720p or 480p. Smaller dimensions often make a much smaller file because every frame has fewer pixels.

What does 280p mean here?
It is the tiny option. We target the short edge, preserve the aspect ratio, and avoid upscaling. For normal landscape footage that means a very small sharing-sized export.

Does this upload my video?
No. Resize runs entirely in your browser using WebCodecs, canvas scaling, and a Web Worker.

Will the audio stay?
AAC audio is passed through unchanged when possible. Non-AAC audio may be dropped in this first version.

Which files work?
Today: MP4 / MOV / M4V containers with H.264 or browser-decodable HEVC video. The output is MP4 with H.264 video.
