§02 · Procedure

How brightening happens.

Three steps. None of them involve a server.

  1. Step 01 1

    Drop the video.

    Pick an MP4 or MOV. The file stays on your device and is read by this tab only.

  2. Step 02 2

    Lift the exposure.

    Use a preset or the brightness slider, then choose the output size. The preview updates instantly, then the worker applies the same setting frame by frame.

  3. Step 03 3

    Download the MP4.

    The browser re-encodes the brightened frames and preserves AAC audio when possible. Close the tab and the working files disappear.

Does this upload my video?
No. The edit runs entirely in your browser. The page is static, there is no upload endpoint for your file, and the output is generated locally in a Web Worker.

Why does brightening take longer than previewing?
The preview is just a display filter on the video element. The download has to apply that brightness to every decoded frame, encode those frames into H.264, and mux them back into an MP4.

Will the audio stay?
AAC audio is passed through unchanged when the source container exposes it cleanly. Non-AAC audio may be dropped in this first version, matching the compressor pipeline.

Which files work?
Today: MP4 / MOV / M4V containers with H.264 or browser-decodable HEVC video. The output is always MP4 with H.264 video.

Can I make a very dark clip look perfect?
Brightness helps recover a clip that is simply too dim. It cannot recreate detail that was crushed to black or blown out by the camera, but it is useful for dim rooms, underexposed webcam clips, and phone videos shot at night.
